We aim through our concerts to create a Living Memorial – a memorial experience through poetry, music, photography, youth performance, and shared expressions of sacred remembrance – but we have also created a Memorial Book to bless families who have suffered the tragic loss of children.
The hardbound book includes the libretto (the poetry) by Rev. Susan Johnson and photography by Carlos Javier Ortiz, a foreword by Fr. Michael Pfleger, a statement to families from Mayor Rahm Emanuel, a contribution from Imam Abdul Malik Mujahid, and reflections from community members and trauma care professionals impacted by youth violence.
We are preparing the book as a gift to parents who have lost children to violence. The book is available for purchase at our memorial events and online for $20.
Memorial Video & CD
We are now accepting pre-orders for a professional video and CD recording of the Memorial Event and original music. You may order the recordings individually, or you may order all three (Book, Video, CD) for $35. Funds raised will benefit our community partners and contribute to our production costs. We will also give all three to donors who contribute $100 or more to bless families through our Memorial Events.
